With that being said, the arts faculty is able to combine theory with professional viability and knowledge with inspiration. This encourages and inspires students to create the best possible things while becoming who they are meant to be.
Business

As students finish their learning, most of them will choose educational options that will place them in a business environment. Skills that students develop in the courses offered by the Valor Business department will ensure they possess the competence and knowledge for future university studies in business.
English
The Valor English department cultivates an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, delight in learning and a desire to become more Christ-like in thoughts and actions. As students engage with worthy texts, they participate in a timeless conversation about the great thoughts and ideas of people and how they relate to themselves, others, and God. Valor strives to refine students’ abilities to think clearly, communicate capably, interpret texts accurately, but perhaps most importantly, appreciate beauty. The writing program stresses frequency, coherence and style, ensuring that graduates are prepared to face the diversity and volume of college writing.
Mathematics
The Mathematics department offers a differentiated instruction that engages students in interactive experiences supported by the use of manipulatives, models, textbooks, and technology. Students will move from the concrete foundational stage to the investigative stage and finally to the project-based stage of contextual application. Frequent and ongoing assessment, in a variety of forms, guides the instructional decisions made by teachers.
Technology
The Valor Technology department is tasked with ensuring every student is technologically literate. Our curriculum emphasizes collaboration and using problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of hands-on computer experiences, including software design and programming, configuring computer hardware and networks, the software development process, and working with applications and subject-area software.
Bible
The Valor Bible department takes serious Jesus’s final command to go into the world and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). The Bible department provides an educational and relational experience to help lead students through the Holy Spirit to be devoted followers and be prepared as leaders to transform the world for Jesus. The Bible department faculty do this through a combination of excellent instruction, modeling Christ-likeness, and relational connection with the students.

Communications
The Valor Communications department believes the study of speech communications is essential in our increasingly global world. We believe that effective communication is a vital skill that will enable our students to flourish in both their personal and professional lives which is why we offer our beneficial communication courses. The purpose of studying speech and debate is to equip students to be able to think critically, reason rationally, and present their ideas eloquently. We strive to teach them to do this in a caring and Godly way.
History
The Valor History department equips students with the ability to critically examine multiple perspectives of history, articulating how each of them would be analyzed within a biblical worldview. We do this through lessons that develop students’ skills for studying history, including identifying major events and their major players, analyzing cause and effect for each, and interpreting primary and secondary source documents. We believe in the importance of remembering, analyzing, and learning history, the good and the bad things, so students can create a better future. In learning about the past, we can glorify God in the future.
Science
The Valor Science department provides contextual knowledge and skills from which students can become scientifically literate in order to make godly, responsible decisions. Each course actively involves students in problem-solving, qualitative and quantitative analysis, hands-on learning and verbal and written communication. Students will develop an appreciation of God’s creation and use science as a process to investigate and discover the natural relationships in our world.
World Languages
The Valor World Language department believes it is essential for Christians to reach out in the name of Christ to other peoples of the world through their own languages and cultures. Our goal is to produce students who are functionally fluent in their language of choice by the conclusion of their four years of study and are equipped to use their language abilities to glorify God. In learning a new language, students will also be able to go into the world with better communication skills.
