Overview
Discover Valor Arts+Media’s innovative visual arts programs
Based in problem solving, risk taking, and creative expression, students can explore a variety of digital and traditional mediums. Our disciplines are deeply connected and we encourage our students to experiment and explore. Students receive in-depth training in our programs while thriving in a joyful, well-crafted, student-centric culture rooted in Christ.
But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8
Traditional Media
Valor’s traditional media program offers students first class studio experiences in ceramics, drawing, and painting.
With a traditional approach that encourages digital sensibilities, students build strong technical foundations and move into conceptual forms of expression. We explore the ‘why’ behind student work at every level and dive deep into ‘creating because we were created.’
Students exhibit their work in our galleries and on our walls year-round. And student exhibitions range from large to small and intimate, with work being displayed around the city as well. Student voice is paramount; our events have heavy student involvement with many creative leadership opportunities.
Digital Media
Valor’s digital media program offers students state-of-the-art studio experiences in design and photography. With a digital approach that encourages traditional and hands on practices as well, students build strong technical foundations and move into conceptual forms of expression.
Design students gain high level experience in a wide array of design applications including online work, print work, screen printing, product design and more.
Photography students will find a wide range of subject matter through class trips with our desire to provide opportunities far beyond the walls of the classroom and campus. Our spaces allow for screen printing, dark room, green screen, television broadcasts, and high-level editing among others.

I wouldn’t be where I am without the support of my high school art teachers. They always encouraged me to explore my own concepts and ideas and to develop my own artistic voice.
