Camp Barnabas
Camp Barnabas is the premier special needs camp in the US, making summer camp possible for people of all ages and abilities. From climbing and zip lines, fishing and canoes, mini golf and water slides, to archery and rifles, Barnabas is dedicated to making the best camp experience accessible to everyone. Their goal is to show others the love of Christ in every aspect of their ministry.
After having to pause camp in 2020, they are excited to be back and ready to serve campers in 2021!! BUT THEY NEED YOUR HELP!
- In need of male staff and volunteers for this summer.
- If a staff position isn’t possible for you, perhaps you could fill the BIG volunteer need for the first week of camp.
- Additional volunteers are needed throughout the summer and available to anyone high school aged, male or female.
Details: They have paid staff positions in a variety of roles at the camp and are looking for males 17 and older who love fun, exciting work environments. You’ll be working alongside high school and college age peers from all over the country. The positions are available for the full camp season as well 1/2 sessions.
If you are interested and you’d like to hear more about how Camp Barnabas is changing lives through disability ministry, please shoot Aaron Janes a text message or give him a call at 303-243-0237. Manna Connect
Manna Connect partners with Manna Care to work together to provide immediate relief and on-going self sufficiency for families. These two different programs beautifully meet the needs of the community in a more holistic way.
Manna Connect is the self sufficiency program that helps families in the community set and meet goals through career support, schooling and identity and soft skill development. Right now, they are in need of a volunteer to serve in a Therapeutic Child Care role.
Therapeutic Child Care is a part of the community gatherings for participants in Manna Connect. Each participant attends the community gatherings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 6pm – 8pm. The child care program is a two generational approach. It provides child care for the participants so they can come to gatherings but even more, it provides a safe, fun environment for the kids to engage in play therapy that relates to the teachings their parents are learning in community gathering. It is Manna Connect’s hope that through therapeutic play, the children can find outlets to handle past trauma and find the support they need.
Commitment Details: The volunteer team meets at 5:45pm to set up and prep for the evening. Dinner is provided for everyone and there are volunteers in each class room that facilitate the curriculum for night. You must make a semester commitment for the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 5:45pm – 8pm. Please email Lindsey Scherrer for more details: lscherrer@mannaresourcecenter.org
P.s. – High school students who volunteer are always a big hit!

Manna Care provides a food market and resources for families in our community. They also provide haircuts, toiletries, and a dinner on the first Tuesday of every month. As they learn about specific needs, their mission is to connect each family with their desired tangible, relational and spiritual support.
