Dylan Daniels earns Outstanding Youth Award

Congratulations to Dylan Daniels (’22) for being named the 2021 Outstanding Youth of Lone Tree Award.  During her junior year, Dylan completed Valor’s STEM Capstone course, where students researched an area of interest, identified a question or problem, and designed and implemented a solution.

Dylan devised an experiment to observe the amount of recycling collected before and after a recycling audio and visual campaign was implemented. She was happy to find the campaign had a positive impact on recycling.

“After growing up in the Colorado mountains and spending my free time outdoors, I have found a passion for preserving God’s beautiful creation. My desire is to help protect what can still be protected, and do my best of educating those about environmental sustainability and preservation,” she said.

Dylan’s award for being an outstanding youth also included her community commitment as a Sky Ridge Medical Center Youth Volunteer and the only female member of the CyberPatriots Team. CyberPatriots is a program created by the Air Force Association that educates students about cybersecurity.

At Valor, Dylan has participated in varsity cross country, lacrosse, and track and field. She has also been a leader for Camp Timberline, a Christian sports and mountain adventure camp.
