Spring Break and Practicum Week is a time for students to learn and grow at a deeper level, and our Arts students were no exception. From staying on campus and learning to use Valor's state-of-the-art music recording equipment to traveling to Moab to catch some breathtaking photographs, students learned priceless lessons while making lifelong memories.

Recording 101

Songwriting students were blessed by the immense expertise of Mr. Magehee, Mr. Clifton, and Mrs. Champion in a Recording 101 practicum class. Throughout the week, these students learned the ins and outs of studio recording in Valor’s state-of-the-art demo suite.

Moab Photography Trip

A large group of Photo II students spent Practicum in Moab learning landscape photography, environmental portraiture, and astrophotography, accompanied by a dream team of four talented Valor teachers. The group spent their time hiking Arches National Park, enjoying some beautiful weather, rejoicing at the gift of gloomy weather, and having conversations around the intersections of faith and art. Student photos from the trip are currently on display outside of the Photo Room in the Valor Center.
