Eagle Eye Media - A New Journalism Progam
This semester, the Media department has been revamping Valor’s student-led journalism program to reflect the multimedia landscape. A new entity, Eagle Eye Media, was created from the aspiration of Valor’s journalism faculty and students to expand Valor’s media program and reach.
Media Department Chair Mrs. Natalie Tysdal, a former Denver news anchor and reporter, is pleased with the new opportunities for students. “I firmly believe that multimedia education is not only a tool for artistic expression but a pathway to fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability," she said.
From branding changes to new class opportunities, Mrs. Tysdal and the Media Department faculty and student team are eager to make the changes to enhance the program. Their new logo was created by graphic design teacher Mr. James Gonzales with input from students and teachers during the initial brainstorming and design phases. It was designed to encompass all forms of journalism.
“We understand that storytelling is no longer confined to traditional mediums,” said Mrs. Tysdal. “It has seamlessly intertwined with the power of film, podcasting, social media and even drones, offering our students an unparalleled platform to express, captivate, and inspire.”
