Cole Scherer is named Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year!

Congratulations to Cole Scherer!

Boys Basketball Junior, Cole Scherer, is named 6A Player of the Year, Gatorade Player of the Year, and Mr. Colorado Basketball. Cole is the first Gatorade Colorado Boys Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Valor Christian High School. The award, which celebrates the nation’s top high school athletes for excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in the community, distinguishes Scherer as Colorado’s best high school boys basketball player. 

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior guard averaged 22 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this past season, leading the Eagles (26-2) to a 6A state championship. Scherer also averaged 3.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game and compiled an eFG% (effective field goal percentage) of 60.4.

Cole was also named Mr. Colorado Basketball. This award is presented by the Denver Post to honor the top boys’ high school basketball player in the state of Colorado.
