Mason Louth named All American Soccer Player

Senior soccer player Mason Louth capped off his high school soccer career with a cherry on top when he was named to the 2021 Fall Boys High School All-America Team. 

According to their website, "To be eligible for All-America and/or All-Region consideration, players must first be selected by their respective state through a recognized coaches' selection program. Each state is awarded a specific number of slots on the All-America and All-Region teams based on the number of high school coaches that are current United Soccer Coaches members."

Mason is one of only three soccer players selected in the State of Colorado, and is the first player in Valor Soccer program history to receive this honor. 
"First of all, I would like to thank God for gifting me with the opportunity to play for Him and this community, for the mentors and people He has put into my life, as well as the hardships and struggles placed in my life by Him to bring me here today," Louth said.  "Without any of those things, I would not be the person I am today, and without everything in my life that has pushed me to this point, I would not be able to receive this award."
This past season, Louth scored four goals and added two assists during nine games. He helped lead his team to a Jeffco League Championship and a #2 overall seed in the 2021 State Playoffs.

"He's the hardest working player on the team, everyone looked to him for leadership," senior teammate Brody Wenaas said. "He's a great friend and person on and off the field."
Mason was also named the 5A Player of the Year, marking another first for the boys soccer program.

"To every coach and teammate that has played a part in my life, thank you for pushing me to become the best version of myself on the field as well in life. To every teacher and mentor, thank you for guiding me and teaching me the importance of the classroom as well as my relationship with God and with my peers. And finally, to my family, I thank you for leading me through life, for showing me that the sky's the only limit to achieving my dreams, and for raising me into the young man I am today," Louth said. "Without you, I would not be here, and I am incredibly grateful for everything you have done for me and everything you will continue to do for me."

"Mason is so humble and works hard at his craft. He was very quick to give credit to his teammates after receiving this award. Although these are individual awards, they definitely are a reflection of the team's success as well, and his teammates played in such a way as to make a great impression on the state coaches who vote for this," Head Boys and Girls Soccer Coach Brian Shultz said. "Mason was a big part of the team doing well this year, but the team's success and the way they played together was also a big part in helping Mason receive this award. As a coach, I couldn't be more proud of this team."
