Meet our Sources of Strength Team
"The mission of Sources of Strength at Valor is to empower our students to promote hope, help, and strength in our school community," explains Mr. David Milton, Social Emotional Services Coordinator. Interested students are trained as peer mentors who help share how the presence of family, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, acts of generosity, faith, physical health, and mental health emphasize wellness and resiliency in the face of personal struggle.
Joining Mr. Milton this year to support this important program is Mrs. Jessica Keith. Mrs Keith brings her experience in family and youth therapy. Together, they support an amazing group of student leaders who want to show their peers the power of a good support system and positive activities and attitudes.
SOS student leaders are planning a special week -- known as 'V Week' in March. Details of daily activities and gifts will be out soon! In the meantime, Valor students are encouraged to stop by The Well during free time to meet Mrs. Keith, and to chat with her and Mr. Milton. The Well is a safe and inviting place!
Students can follow Sources of Strength on Instagram @valorsourcesofstrength to read stories of strength from your peer mentors, as well as meeting times and announcements for the SOS Club. All students are welcome to join the Sources of Strength Club!
