Spiritual Well-Being

Spiritual formation at Valor envelops the students, staff and faculty in a unified vision of Christ-like character development in all pursuits. It is a lifestyle developed, understood, and lived out daily in our school community.

Weekly Chapel Service

We are a decidedly Christian school and chapel is considered the inflection point of the week. We meet for chapel on Wednesdays and seek to present an opportunity for students to connect with Christ. There will be a time of worship, a message with practical application about pertinent issues in their life and time spent examining the scriptures. We view chapel as a key component at Valor to help encourage students to continually grow in their walk with Christ. While each student is on their own individual journey of faith, we view chapel as a corporate gathering where all are welcome.

Senior Prayer Partners

At the beginning of the school year, each faculty and staff member chooses a senior student whom they will commit to pray for throughout the year. Prayer partners generally meet on a regular basis throughout the year, oftentimes during the school day over lunch or during the student’s off-period. Given the challenges that sometimes come with the senior year experience, it is reassuring for our seniors to know that they have someone who has chosen to come alongside them and faithfully lift them up in prayer.

Life Groups

The heart behind life groups is to provide a place for students to do life together, alongside faculty and staff members that mentor and disciple them throughout their high school career. Our motto for what we do with life groups is “have fun and grow in Christ”. Each group really makes it their own experience. Some dive deep into the word of God, some play games on the lawn, some do Discovery trips together. The idea is that each student is “seen, heard, known, cared for, and senses a feeling of belonging to something greater than themselves" throughout their four years of high school in their own special family.

Physical Well-Being

We believe that God created each student uniquely and beautifully to serve Him and use their gifts and talents for His glory. He has a purpose and plan for each student’s life.

Valor seeks to provide an environment in which students can thrive physically. Nutritious food offerings during the day, outdoor spaces on campus to enjoy the beautiful Colorado sunshine, athletic facilities in which to engage in physical activity, and encouragement for a day of Sabbath rest on Sundays, are just a few of the opportunities we believe students have to pursue their physical well-being.

Social Well-Being

Valor’s mission statement is clear that within a vibrant Christ-centered environment, we want students to be empowered to discover their passions and develop their unique gifts and abilities.

Opportunities abound for students to get connected, develop friendships, and engage with others who share common interests. From after-school clubs to co-curricular offerings in athletics and arts, as well as humbly serving the least of these, we encourage students to step outside their comfort zones and get plugged into a community. Doing life together is always more fun and satisfying.
