Valor Alum Gretchen Bloom is Making a Name for Herself in the Movie Industry.
Gretchen Bloom '19 is living her dream. She is currently a Freelance Composer for a few different Trailer Music/Library Companies. Which means she creates albums/library music for movies. Ever since she was a little girl, she was fascinated with soundtrack music, and when she first recorded Carol of the Bells (shoutout to Mr. Magehee) at Valor, she realized how possible it was to start creating tracks. Gretchen loves experimenting with sound design and incorporating cello "textures" into tracks for movies and shows. She told us that she gives all her credit to God because He answered so many prayers that made it possible for her to work in this industry! She also says it is fun meeting some of the composers she listens to and seeing "behind the scenes" for movies is super cool. Gretchen has definitely had some "dream come true" moments that were quite miraculous. To see what new thing Gretchen is working on follow her on Instagram. Now a junior at Point Loma Nazarene University majoring in Visual Arts and competing as a varsity track athlete, Gianna shares about some of the aspects of her high school experience that led her to where she is today.
