Valor Alum Piper Vaughn is Telling Local Stories Everyday
Piper Vaughn '19 is a multimedia journalist for KOAA News5 in Colorado Springs. She grew up loving to watch the local news channels after school and before bed. Piper studied at CU Boulder which is when she found her passion for broadcast journalism and being on-air. She continued her education by getting her master's in Journalism at USC. During her time there, she knew this was exactly what she wanted to do and what God had in store for her. She is thrilled to be working in her home state and reporting on stories of those who live in the community, no matter how big or small. She told us that every day is different and she loves that part of the job. Her main topic to cover is military/veteran stories; through her work, she has met the Blue Angels, been in Veteran's Day parades, and worked with the Honor Bell Foundation. Piper would love it if you could pray for her safety when she is out in the community. She would also love to cover any story ideas, you can email her anytime or reach her through her work page. Now a junior at Point Loma Nazarene University majoring in Visual Arts and competing as a varsity track athlete, Gianna shares about some of the aspects of her high school experience that led her to where she is today.
