Valor Music Awards Night

The Red Carpet was rolled out for recording arts students and the community to celebrate their original works and those of their peers! This grammy-style night is a fun tradition that provides a showcase of some of Valor's top student works as they celebrate the songwriting process.

The VMAs (Valor Music Awards) is an annual celebration of Valor’s brightest songwriting stars. This year’s awards did not disappoint, opening with pictures on the red carpet and closing with a dessert reception. Songwriting students performed twelve songs ranging from punk pop to 50’s rock & roll to mainstream R&B. If you missed this incredible evening, you can watch the video recording, and also listen to our incredible songwriters through our Valor's own Spotify Station, Loftside Music, linked below.

The student songs are first performed in the Fall at the two nights of Songwriter Showcases, traditionally set at Mike Ward's Maserati showroom. Audience members there score them for their lyrics, melodies and originality in nine categories.

Professionals in the music industry were also invited to adjudicate them and give constructive feedback, and the results of the community and professional judging were announced on this very special evening of performances and celebration in the Valor Center.
